Here is a little funny story. I was at a duka buying a mandazi and this man asks me where I was from. I answer America and he says, "I want to marry an American woman. Can you Dig?" Hmmmm...He then tells me (in front of Ugandan women) "I do not like African women." I proceeded to tell him that no i don't dig, not like African women. They are such good cooks and hard workers. I was not a happy camper that he was being so rude to these women. Back up mister! I cannot believe some of the things this man was saying.

I also to a couple minutes of this outdoor concert which was a promotional gig for MNT. The guys up on the stage started waving out into the crowd. I am looking behind  me and then a girl next to me tells me he is waving to me and saying he is single. He and the other guy periodically would wave and then tell me they love me. Talk about a little awkward. Out of the huge crowd the only mzungu would stand out! I obviously didn't stay long.

That brings me to another subject: Mzungu. The word means:white person. Imagine you are walking down the street minding your own business and here all these people are yelling, "Mzungu! Mzungu! How are you?" or "Mzungu, I love you." Do people in America do that? no they don't. It can be funny but then it can go staight to frustrating. There you have a random insight to a useless piece of a day in Uganda. Next time you go to the market, or Kroger, point at someone and say, "Mzungu, I love you!"
